February Favourites

Image
L'OREAL L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick 101 Rose Melody I just wrote about this shade in my latest review, where I also said that it has been on my lips pretty much the entire month, partly because I find it a great lip balm alternative, so it's no surprise it is among my favourites. On my lips it's a natural-pinky my-lip-but-better-shade with a nice glossy finish that makes the lips look more plump. The comfortable, creamy formula and the divine peachy scent just make these glosses a winner in my book. MAYBELLINE Color Tattoo 24HR  35 On and one Bronze I think this is one of the best eyeshadows for those days when you just can't be bothered with lots of blending or you're pressed for time. It is one of the best natural shades that isn't too smoky, but still has an impact, so it's great for so many occasions. It can be worn on its own, but I mostly like to use it as a base to give the eyeshadow on the top a warm, bronzy hue, more intensity and extra st...

L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick 101 Rose Melody

Image
I won't go too much into details about this lip gloss, simply because this is my second shade from this range and I've already done a review about the formula and all the rest of the stuff in my post about the shade 201 Rose Symphony . All you need to know is that these are my favourite glosses despite the slightly eye-watering price for a drugstore product. The texture of these is amazing because it's so creamy, moisturising and not at all sticky , so I often end up wearing it as lip balm alternative. These also smell divine, at least to me, since they smell like peaches , which is my favourite scent.  Rose Melody is a natural nude shade with pink tones in it (a more beige version of this shade is Nude Vibrato) and it's not as opaque as Rose Symphony . On me it's a my-lips-but-better shade and it makes the lips look a touch more nude, but it doesn't completely cover my natural colour and I quite like that. There is some tiny shimmer in it as well, but it...

Essence I Love Trends Nail Polish The Nudes in 02 I Nude it

Image
I Nude it is one of the brand new colours by Essence that has already joined their permanent line. It's an opaque cream/light beige nude shade with what appears to be tiny duo chrome gold-green shimmer , but I can't really see it when it's on the nails, rather only in the bottle and when I'm removing the polish. It's lighter than my skin tone and I'm as pale as a wall, so this won't be a proper nude shade on anyone, but it is in the that family of colours. Let's call it an off-white colour. It doesn't look as pretty on my nails as on Taya's and that bothers me a bit. It's a lot more bland on me, I think and it lacks a bit of warmth. There isn't much more to say about this nail polish. The formula is an average two coater and as it's expected for such a shade, more on the thick side, so a standard pastel nail polish formula that tends to be streaky. I can't say much about the brush either except that it works just fine. And t...

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm

Image
I always told myself that this balm was certainly over-hyped to console myself at the look of the price tag. I mean it's just not normal that anyone would ask for such a price for any skincare item (an euro short of 50 €), but hey that's just my two cents. But damn it, the texture of this is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I got the small, but still generous 50 ml size in a nice set together with a 15 ml size of Amazing Face Age Support cream, a shockingly good cloth and handy travel zip bag for 25 € on Feel Unique (it's still available for 28 €).  Texture: It's a solid oil and its melting temperature appears to be lower than that of Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm or Balm Balm Frankincense Cleansing balm as the top layer is mostly in a liquid state in my bathroom. As soon as this is rubbed into the skin it turns into oil, so it's very easy to massage the product into the skin. I don't need much of it, about a pea size or two is enough for me. By the ...

An Easy Snow White Look

Image
If you live in our part of Europe, then you probably know it's Pust season or week. It's a time when people dress in costumes to scare away the dreaded winter, at least that's what we tell the children. It started on Saturday and tomorrow is the most important day, when particularly children wear masks and go door to door, while the rest of us eat a ton of doughnuts (#noragrets). Basically it's our version of Halloween. I'm very boring when it comes to costumes and my ideas are always last minute, so I often do the easiest thing for me - Snow White. I have dark hair, pale skin, so the only thing I need is a red lipstick, a red bow, blue t-shirt and yellow skirt , which I just have in my closet (well, I found the skirt in mum's old stuff as I'm not fond of yellow). I made the red bow myself and it's a super simple process. If you don't know how to do a bow, I found a tutorial that shows a similar method to the one I used. I pinned the bow onto a red ...

L'Oreal Super Liner So Couture

Image
If you've seen one of my New in posts, where this liner first appeared on my blog, you might have been clued in that this won't a terribly positive review. This is without a doubt the worst liner I've ever tried and it makes me madder than it should, mostly because I paid 10 € for a liner with which I could never do anything more than a grey, smudged out line. Such felt tip liners, though they aren't rare in our drugstores, the ones we have here mostly have very oddly shaped nibs that don't look precise enough, so I quickly dismiss them, however, this one seemed very promising. I have a couple of my favourite felt tip liners, Kardashian Beauty's Deeply Felt and L'Oreal's Super Liner Perfect Slim , which I can only get online as for some reason L'Oreal only sells the So Couture version in our drugstores.  The very first use should have been a clue already, but I just assumed that some ill-mannered person had placed a used liner at the back of the li...

New In #27 and a Surprise Giveaway

Image
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Siberia If you've seen my birthday wishlist post , you know that this was one of the things I really wanted to have. My awesome cousins surprised me with this for my birthday as well as some other über generous bits. Aren't they the best people ever? I've already done a review of this here based on a very generous sample that my follower Tamara sent. Basically what's most important to me is that the shade is super light as I am approximately the shade of a freshly painted white wall, though this is a very yellow foundation and my skin is neutral. The coverage is medium-full and this blends so well on the skin, leaving behind that similar luminous matte or maybe rather luminous satin effect that Catrice's Nude Illusion does, but it never sits ugly in my pores, which I greatly appreciate. I already shared this on Instagram and Pinterest , but here is it for those who haven't seen it yet. Thanks to Tamara again, we came to a discovery ...
