Ellis Faas Autumn Set 2011 ~ Review + Swatches

For the 2011 autumn season, Ellis has selected a gift set of three, best-selling products that work together as a great team.

All products come in similar shaped pens that hold the liquid colours. Right from when Ellis started developing her first ideas about the brand, she wanted the pens to be inspired by bullets. Award-winning industrial designer Arnout Visser took this idea and, together with Ellis, he started a long search for the perfect look, the best size, the right material et cetera. It has taken quite a while to get from idea to sketch to final design to computer simulation to the final product was finished, but it was worth the journey.

I absolutely adore the Packaging, these bullet-shaped pens are sleek and elegant..and also travel-friendly enough to go anywhere with you ;)

You have to rotate the bottom part of the pen to dispense the product, theres a clicking sound when it rotates..At the first time of use, you have to click for several times to get the product out..but after that it comes out quickly..And make sure you don't click too much or else it will dispense too much product!

Lets start with the Milky Eyes E204

What they say?

With its liquid consistency, these innovative and long lasting eye shadows transform into a matte powder upon application with the ELLIS FAAS signature pen. ELLIS FAAS eye shadow leaves a smooth finish and will not build up in eyelid creases, making it suitable for all skin types. Liquid to powder eye shadow is also ideal for women who are sensitive to traditional powdered eye shadow, including contact lens wearers.

With a more translucent texture than Creamy Eyes, and a deeper, more vivid palette, ELLIS FAAS Milky Eyes can be used as a colour stain or a subtle wash.

For a soft and sophisticated look, use the specifically designed ELLIS FAAS Milky Eyes sponge applicator to apply Milky Eyes all over the eyelid, then fade it with the fingertips. For more intense colour, simply re-apply a second layer of Milky Eyes. Ellis particularly likes applying Milky Eyes across the lid and then intensifying the colour in a second layer close to the lashes.

Pair Creamy Eyes and Milky Eyes for a dramatic look: First use Creamy Eyes for shape, then add Milky Eyes for a sheen of colour.

My Experience..

The applicator is a little tricky to get used to..you just need a tiny amount for your eyes, and if you dispense more..it will only go to waste..which is sad :(

You can apply directly with the brush, or dispense it on your hand and then work with a brush or your fingers!

Its is a beautiful smokey green color, which can be built-up if you want more intensity!

This actually has a liquid-to-powder consistency..once it dries it feels like you have a powder eyeshadow on your lids

Heres the swatch..

This actually stayed put for almost 8 hours easily, without fading or creasing..which was great!

You would need a makeup remover to get it off, its hard to get off with water

Now lets talk about the mascara E401

What they say?

ELLIS FAAS mascara features a creamy texture that perfectly coats, lengthens and separates each individual lash and is well-suited for customising different looks. Use the elegant, long wand of the brush to stroke on one coat to accentuate your lashes with subtlety, or to frame your eyes with more a more dramatic effect, build up the lashes with additional layers.

My Experience..

This Mascara has a Huge wand, which might need a little getting used to..but wasn't any issue!

Its wand is pretty good. it literally separates ALL the lashes beautifully

The formula is actually thick, dries fast, the wand dispenses the right amount of mascara to coat your lashes nice and naturally..the more you coat the more it builds up on your lashes and the more dramatic the result becomes!

This stays put for a long time, didn't flake or smudge on my lashes

Its not waterproof, but it doesn't come off with a little water..but it does come off easily when you wash it with more!

Now comes the Creamy Lips L102

What they say?

Creamy Lips offers the most cover when applied and is a great lipstick which really helps to define your lips. It feels soft and velvety and, thanks to a special blend of lightweight oils, not only hydrates your lips but gives them the appearance of being fuller.

The applicator is a so called showerhead (2nd picture) and is most suitable for this texture, for ease of applying and creating the best effect.

All ELLIS LIPS products are lightweight, long-lasting and extremely easy to apply. They all contain Vitamin E and are paraben-free. All the textures in the ELLIS LIPS collection are liquid, so they immediately blend into the skin on application – making them non-sticky!

My Experience..

You can see the swatch below, Its a cherry color..looks like a hot pink when applied with a light hand, and can be intensified to a reddish pink when buit-up..The lipstick feels creamy and moisturizing, it can be applied without a lip balm underneath..even if your lips are dry!

Its not really glossy, but has a nice sheen..you won't need to put on a gloss

This is a pretty long wearing lipstick, which is actually great..even if it fades after eating or drinking, your lips are stained with the color..so your lips don't feel totally bare!

Overall, i am actually in love with ALL three of these..YES!

Starting with the Packaging, to all the way to the Quality..everything absolutely amazes me!

The Click Pen does need a little getting used to, but it works great when you're comfortable with it

You really don't need to use all three of these together..i personally don't do dramatics eye looks with dark lip colors! 

The only thing which may bother some people is the price..individually one bullet-shaped pen costs about $35..and this set is for $80 with three pens..Which means you save $25 with this set!

Totally worth it :)
